My Truck Tracker

About the Project

My Truck Tracker was a group project including myself and five other group members. The goal of the project was to take an idea and develop it using an agile approach. Learning how to work as a group, stick to a timeline, and practice agile practices such as sprints while developing a product were the key takeaways of this project.

My role in the group was to help design and implement the backend of the project. I worked with a group member named Dan to develop an SQL database for storing data about vehicles, accidents, and vehicle trips. We had to work together to implement this while also conveying to the front end what data was needed. Dan and I had to work together to find the relationships we would need between the data tables and create the appropriate foreign keys to get these relationships.

Later on during development I also took on the responsibility of creating an admin user and admin portal. Which allowed me to practice some front-end development along with adding to the backend. The admin portal needed to add a way of updating information that was already in the databases. I achieved this with a view database section that allows for editing or deleting any section within the databases. We also needed a section for approving or un-approving expenses that would be submitted from the employees. Which was achieved by adding the admin approvals page.
